He mentioned
that he and Barry Bernstein are still working on getting some type
of program for after school for teens. He noted that the Martial
Arts and the Aerobics programs that were offered this Fall have
been very popular.
Mr. Asleson reported that he and Don Volk recently went to the Lino
Lakes VFW to ask for donations, and were given $3000.00 to help
with the recreation program for next year. They will also be
contacting the Blaine Legion for assistance. Marty commented that
the recreation Department is evolving, and asked the Board to see
him if they had any ideas.
George Lindy referred to the Fall and Winter Guide Marty handed
out. He noted that Birch Park was scheduled for Adult Broomball for
this Winter. Mr. Lindy recalled that when Birch Park was set up,
the Board said they weren't going to schedule it as a hockey rink,
although the neighbors did it on their own last year. George says
he certainly wants the Park to be used. A lot of effort went into
making a beautiful ballfield and hockey rink, and he would like to
strike a balance with scheduled recreation time and availability to
the neighborhood.
Other Old Business - There was no other old business.
New Business - There was no new business.
Adjournment - A motion to adjourn was made by John Baumann, it was
seconded by George Lindy. All were in favor. Meeting was adjourned
at 9:12 PM.
10
