CITY OF LINO LAKES PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
INSTRUCTIONS FOR WARMING HOUSE ATTENDANTS
1. Cars are not allowed in parks, unless in a designated parking
area.
2. Snowmobiles and ATV's are illegal in the parks. Please inform
the operator, write down license number, color, make, time and
date, and report it to the Parks and Recreation Office. If the
individual refuses to leave, immediately notify the Police
Department by telephone at 427-1212 to have an officer
dispatched.
3. Accident Report forms are in your notebook. These reports must
be completed entirely and signed by you following any accident or
injury sustained on or around your assigned hockey rink. It is very
important that you make this report and see that it's turned in
immediately to ensure that the Supervisor will take the appropriate
follow up action.
4. Neighborhood Parents (adult groups) may request later hours (8
to 10:00 pm) for a specific occasion. In this case, have the
individual call Barry Bernstein at 464-5562 in advance to reserve
the time. This information should be entered in your log book well
in advance, along with their name and phone number. Questions
should be directed to your rink supervisor.
5. All attendants are expected to prepare and submit a schedule of
their hours for at least one week in advance. Punctuality is
expected at all times. Be on time to open your rink building and
don't close early.
6. Time Off. Because of the short term of employment, attendants
are asked not to request time off. Also, no provision is made for
paid sick leave because this is temporary employment.
7. Absence of Duty. The responsibility which the attendant has for
the safety and welfare of the public cannot be overemphasized,
under no circumstances should the area be left unsupervised or with
an untrained attendant.
8. While on duty, an employee is allowed to skate and "shoot the
puck around" the rink, but under no circumstances are you to get
involved in playing hockey, boot hockey or broomball.
9. Attendants should assist children in putting on or tightening
their skates, whenever possible.
3
