PARR BOARD MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 51 1991
work from this committee is very important. Marty Asleson added
that even though the committee may not meet, Mr. Schoenbauer has
set up meetings with City Staff and the County, so his work for
Lino Lakes continues.
Marty Asleson reported that the Agreement between Lino Lakes and
Centennial School District is being held up for some very minor
revisions. He also informed the board that construction has begun
on the new Rice Lake Elementary School on Birch Street. Marty says
he's very concerned about State Aid for his programs. He referred
the board to a newspaper article about Lakeville, Minnesota and the
fast growth of that City.
OTHER OLD BUSINESS - Ken Johnson referring to the minutes from the
Design Review Board meeting of August 14th, questioned an
Application for Consideration of a Minor Subdivision from Steve
Bailey of 1826 Birch St. Mr. Bailey wants to subdivide 48 acres
into 3 parcels. Ken Johnson made reference to the park dedication
of $400.00 for each new lot, and asked why this park dedication
issue was not brought up before the park board. Marty Asleson will
check on this and have an answer for the next meeting.
George Lindy questioned when it would be possible to have a special
meeting to discuss the park and recreation budget. Marty suggested
waiting until after the CIP is finished. Apparently meetings still
are going on regarding the budget.
Bill Nissen questioned Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department
giving preferential treatment to Lino residents. Marty Asleson
explained that the City Council wanted that. Bill Nissen feels that
it could become a problem with the School Board. Marty Asleson
noted that the school agreed with this consideration and that it
didn't seem to be a problem. "This will be a learning experience."
George Lindy mentioned the golf course consideration that was
discussed at the August park board meeting. He has done some
research and was overwhelmed at the cost. Millions of dollars are
involved. Marty Asleson explained that is why it probably pays to
hire consultants regarding this matter.
Bill Nissen reported that because of a scheduling conflict with a
class he is taking, he will not be able to attend the next three
meetings.
There was no new business.
John Baumann made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by
George Lindy. All in favor. Meeting was adjourned at 9:02 PM.
P
