At one time 18 developers were <br />considering subdivisions for different parcels of land with <br />combined area of almost 600 acres. <br />Obviously development this rapid could lead to financial <br />problems for Lino Lakes (and the developers) if there were a <br />serious financial down turn. Development policies regarding <br />accessibility to sewer, lot inventory, and market value of <br />housing is needed. <br />Commercial and industrial development has been much slower in <br />coming to Lino Lakes. Building permits issued for this use <br />over the past four years has primarily been a reflection of <br />local businesses expanding, e.g. A -Well, and Arndt <br />Construction. <br />More recently proposals for larger scale development have <br />been received that would place retail developments at I-35W <br />and Lake Drive and T.H. 49 and Lake Drive. A 21,000 square <br />foot strip mall has been approved as a redevelopment project <br />at the corner of Lake Drive and Main Street. Still though <br />Page 7 <br />
