CITY OF LINO LAKES
PARK BOARD MEETING
MONDAY, JUNE 5, 1995
PHEASANT HILLS:
Joe wanted to know how much was allocated for this park. Marty
said $28, 000.
Marty then talked about the master plan design. He said this is
a walk to 2-3 acre mini park with a trail going through the park
with access to the regional park.
He continued by saying the fire ring has been taken out because
it is not a priority. The play equipment has been scaled down,
they liked the overlook area and the half basketball court, and
they wanted signage at the entrance of the park to welcome
visitors and place significance on the park.
Joe asked what the cost would be for the sign. Marty said $250-
$300 . Marty said the total cost for the project is $48, 700.
Marty said that Pam Backer from Pheasant Hills Preserve called
him to see what the next steps were. Marty said the next step
was to have the Park Board approve the master plan.
Ken asked if the developer was giving cash or if they were going
to do some of the work. Marty said it has not been decided yet
but they do have equipment in the area and may do some of the
grading. He will talk to Pam or Homer to see what they plan to
do.
George wanted to know who was prioritizing the elements in this
park, the neighborhood group or the developer. Marty said the
neighborhood group is.
NOTION: Joe Schmidt made a motion to approve the master plan, as
presented, for the Pheasant Hills Park. Pam Taschuk seconded the
motion and it was approved unanimously.
FURTHER DISCUSSION: George asked if we should have the residents
come up with names for their neighborhood parks. The Park Board
thought this was a good idea.
BIRCHWOOD, PARK GROVE, PINE RIDGE, (N-10) PARK:
Marty told the Park Board he had included, in their packets, the
results from the survey this group did for their master plan.
He said their concerns were noise areas, getting people through
the park, vegetation around the park, and working with neighbors
to create buffers around the park. Marty said the total
estimated cost of this project is $93, 800.00.
4
