CITY OF LINO LAKES <br /> PARK BOARD MEETING <br /> MONDAY, APRIL 3, 1995 <br /> Barry also reported that he had 80 youth coaches go through a <br /> coaches clinic on Saturday April 1 at Rice Lake Elementary <br /> School. He will have another clinic on Thursday, April 6 and <br /> will certify another 50-80 coaches. There will be about 40 <br /> soccer coaches going through a coaches clinic also. <br /> Marty mentioned the NYSCA of Minnesota brochure, that was in the <br /> packets, which showed the 1994 NYSCA Chapter Certification <br /> totals. Lino Lakes certified 108 coaches last year. He <br /> commended Barry for his hard work in certifying these coaches. <br /> EARTH DAY <br /> Marty said planning for Earth Day is going well and we have over <br /> 300 volunteers signed up to do cleanup, painting, etc. He then <br /> went over the ceremony that will be at the Wargo Nature Center on <br /> April 22 . John Bauman will be doing the food again this year for <br /> the volunteers. Marty hoped the Park Board members would come to <br /> the celebration. <br /> Joe asked about the auction. Marty explained that the Police <br /> Department is having an auction of bikes, tv' s, vcr' s and other <br /> equipment. <br /> Marty said Arbor Day celebration is scheduled for June 2 at the <br /> Lino Elementary School. <br /> RICE LAKE ESTATES UPDATE: Marty explained that Ray Weber was <br /> going to go to the Circle Pines Park Board meeting and then come <br /> over and update the Lino Park Board on Rice Lake Estates. He was <br /> going to take a concept plan describing the park area and discuss <br /> what we could do cooperatively as a group. <br /> Marty said he, Brian Bourassa, and Circle Pines met and looked at <br /> the two lots. Circle Pines brought a backhoe to look under the <br /> top soil. One lot was positive and we will be able to do alot <br /> with it. Brian is going to do a cost estimate on the other lot. <br /> Marty could not answer, at this time, what it is going to cost to <br /> develop it as a buildable lot so it can be sold to invest in a <br /> joint park. He said there is approximately 10 feet of peat there <br /> and you can not build on peat. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> ADOPT-A-PARK: Marty said Jean Briggs Girl Scout Troop 834 has <br /> elected to adopt Lino Park again this year. They will be doing <br /> something for Earth Day. He said they basically have the same <br /> agreement as they did last year. <br /> 7 <br />
