CITY OF LINO LAKES <br /> PARK BOARD MEETING <br /> MON AY, DECEMBER 5, 1994 <br /> The City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was called to order at <br /> 6:34pm. <br /> Roll Call Was taken, members present were George Lindy, Chair, <br /> Sharon Lane, Brian Bourassa, Pam Taschuk, Ken Johnson, Joe <br /> Schmidt, and Amy Donlin. Also present were Marty Asleson, Park, <br /> Recreation and Forestry Coordinator, Barry Bernstein, Recreation <br /> Program Supervisor, Mary Kay Wyland, Planning Co-ordinator, and <br /> Sandie Wood, Recording Secretary. <br /> APPROVAL OF NOVEMBER 7, 1994 MIN=S: After a brief discussion <br /> Sharon Lane made a motion to approve the November 7, 1994 <br /> minutes, Pam Taschuk seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> OPEN MIKE: There was no one present to speak under Open Mike. <br /> AWARD CEREMONY - JEAN BRIGGS & GIRL SCOUT TROOP 834: Marty gave <br /> an explanation of what the Adopt-A-Park Program is. He explained <br /> that Girl Scout Troop 834 signed a contract for this community <br /> service project. He said this is the first formally adopted park <br /> through this program. Marty mentioned the girls had planted <br /> flowers and took care of them during the summer. They organized <br /> two park clean-ups, and also reported any problems they saw <br /> within the park. <br /> Mary Asleson read and presented Jean Briggs and Girl Scout Troop <br /> 834 with a Certificate of Appreciation plaque that was signed by <br /> Mayor Vern Reinert and Park Board Chair George Lindy. <br /> The press was present to take pictures of this presentation. <br /> LIVING WATERS LUTHERAN CHURCH - RECONSIDERATION OF PARK <br /> DEDICATION- <br /> Marty received a letter from the Living Waters Lutheran Church <br /> requesting the reconsideration of their former park dedication <br /> agreement. <br /> George explained that in the original agreement, in lieu of a <br /> cash dedication, the church agreed to erect a trail along Birch <br /> Street and a dedicated linear park trail along the north side of <br /> the development traveling from the west to the east, connecting <br /> into Country Lakes Estates and ultimately Country Lakes Park. <br /> The trail along Reshenau Lake was requested as a dedication in <br /> lieu of a $10, 000 cash dedication. <br /> 1 <br />
