2 <br /> <br />10. Provides research and information on special projects as assigned by the City <br />Administrator. <br />11. Evaluates, recommends and participates in staff training and development. <br />12. Oversees employee onboarding and off boarding, inclusive of exit interviews. <br />13. Responsible for maintaining employee records and record retention. <br />14. Data practices designee responsible for all personnel related data requests. <br />15. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent. <br /> <br />Communications <br />1. Develops and implements the digital content strategy for website and social media. <br />2. Oversees content production of all City messaging through printed and electronic <br />platforms. <br />3. Oversees the writing, editing, designing, and publishing of a variety of communications <br />pieces and special presentations for both internal and external distribution. <br />4. Develops communication policies and procedures for the City and ensures proper <br />compliance. <br />5. Stays informed and educated on communication trends and research; evaluates and <br />recommends communication tools for the City. <br />6. Develops and administers budget for City’s communications program. <br /> <br />Note: These examples are intended only as illustrative of various types of work performed, and are not all-inclusive. <br />The job description is subject to change as the requirements of the job change. <br /> <br />REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES <br />1. Knowledge and ability to successfully apply human resources best practices and to <br />resolve the full range of problems associated with professional human resource work. <br />2. Ability to create and implement a marketing and/or communications strategy and media <br />schedule. <br />3. Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations such as FMLA, FLSA, ADA, <br />workers’ compensation, PELRA, EEOC, affirmative action, and data practices. <br />4. Ability to build trusting relationships, to foster a teamwork environment, to maintain <br />confidentiality, and to effectively manage conflict. <br />5. Ability to clearly communicate personnel management policies and procedures to <br />individuals and groups; demonstrated ability to edit a variety of written and electronic <br />materials. <br />6. Ability to independently prioritize own work; be attentive to detail, timeliness, and <br />completion; and provide assistance to the work of others.
