2 <br /> <br />11. Creates content for social media communication tools, monitor inquiries, complaints, and <br />comments and responds to routine citizen requests or questions. <br />12. Responsible for supporting polices and guidelines for City communications. Maintains <br />working relationships with City staff, press and media contacts, communications <br />professionals, external vendors, and customers. <br />13. Provides administrative assistance including but not limited to data entry, updating and <br />monitoring information systems, record retention, and HR related events. <br />14. Assists with the marketing and promotion of City services through special events, <br />promotions, community events, public gatherings and related activities. <br />15. Attend and assist in scheduling, participating in, or coordinating events and activities to <br />market and promote the City, as needed (e.g. ground breakings, open houses, festivals, grand <br />openings, recreation events, etc.). <br />16. Acts as liaison between the City and North Metro Television. <br />17. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent. <br /> <br />Note: These examples are intended only as illustrative of various types of work performed, and are not all-inclusive. <br />The job description is subject to change as the requirements of the job change. <br /> <br />REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES <br />1. Knowledge of marketing communications concepts and ability to select proper <br />communication channels. <br />2. Ability to manage projects, coordinate timelines and handle multiple priorities. <br />3. Ability to update websites, create graphics, and produce social media content. <br />4. Skilled in proper grammar, sentence structure, paragraphing, punctuation and spelling. <br />5. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing using various forms and in a <br />variety of situations. <br />6. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to deal tactfully and effectively with <br />the general public, news media, and all City elected officials, and personnel. <br />7. Ability to handle, discern and maintain confidentiality and propriety information as required <br />and in compliance with policies and directives. <br />8. Knowledge and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. <br />9. Knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and other various social media <br />outlets. <br /> <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />1. Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field. Or, an equivalent <br />combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to <br />perform the work. <br />2. Three years of communications, marketing, social media, and website design experience. <br />3. Valid Driver’s License.
