COUNCIL MINUTES <br />DRAFT <br />2 <br />H) Consider Approval of Resolution 21-48, Approving a Peddler 42 <br />License for Aptive Pest Control Approved 43 <br />FINANCE DEPARTMENT REPORT 44 <br />There was no report from the Finance Department. 45 <br />ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT 46 <br />There was no report from the Administration Department. 47 <br />PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT 48 <br />4A) Consider Donation of Seized Property – Public Safety Director Swenson explained that 49 <br />staff is requesting authority to donate certain seized property, an old radio antenna to be specific. 50 <br />The unit is no longer useful to the department and the only place they’ve found still utilizing this 51 <br />type of equipment is the Anoka County Radio Club. The club will handle gathering the unit and 52 <br />moving it to their desired location. 53 <br />Councilmember Stoesz remarked that he has contacted the organization and learned that they will be 54 <br />participating in the Blue Heron Days event this year. 55 <br />Councilmember Stoesz moved to approve the donation of property as recommended by staff. 56 <br />Councilmember Cavegn seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 57 <br />PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT 58 <br />There was no report from the Public Services Department. 59 <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT REPORT 60 <br />6A) Consider 1st Reading of Ordinance 04-21, Sale of Property, Lots 12 & 13, Carole Estates 61 <br />2nd Addition – City Administrator Cotton reviewed the written staff report. The sale of property was 62 <br />discussed earlier (in a closed session) by the council. Through negotiations with the buyer the City has 63 <br />reached a proposal to sell the property. Contingencies were noted. 64 <br />Councilmember Stoesz asked how this sale of property is being advertised. Administrator Cotton 65 <br />noted that there is no legal requirement for notification in this case. 66 <br />Councilmember Ruhland asked if the property was listed for sale; Ms. Cotton remarked that she 67 <br />believes the buyer approached the City with their interest. 68 <br />Councilmember Cavegn moved to approve the first reading of Ordinance No. 04-21 as presented. 69 <br />Motion carried on a voice vote. 70 <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS 71 <br />Mayor Rafferty asked for an update on Blue Heron Days. Councilmember Stoesz reported on: 72 <br />receiving approval from Anoka County to close the road, the special event permit that will be 73 <br />completed and submitted, volunteers are coming together, and a check authorization will be before 74 <br />the council soon for a county fee. Administrator Cotton noted that there is some existing funding in 75 <br />the City budget that would cover that fee as well as other expenses related to such things as 76 <br />advertising. Mayor Rafferty asked Councilmember Stoesz to keep the council updated. 77 <br /> 78 <br />NEW BUSINESS 79 <br />There was no New Business. 80
