<br />fitness and wellbeing centers and will be re-imagined as community response hubs.” The <br />reimagining process did not bring about any solutions to reopening the facility and <br />pursuant to the original agreement with the YMCA the facility was conveyed to the City <br />on March 1, 2021. <br /> <br />The City of Lino Lakes originally invested $2.4 million in the Lino Lakes YMCA to <br />serve residents with a recreational facility. Now that the facility is closed, the City would <br />like to see the facility reopened to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being in <br />the community. <br /> <br />Anoka County Public Health identifies Areas of Public Health Responsibility and <br />Essential Public Health Services. One of those areas is promoting healthy communities <br />and healthy behavior which staff feels would be met by re-opening the Lino Lakes <br />Recreation Facility. <br /> <br />The ARPA funds would be used to re-open the unoccupied facility with the goal of <br />creating a community space which promotes physical health and mental well-being. Re- <br />opening costs consist of creating a sustainable recreation facility and setting up for a new <br />management model.
