Zoning Ordinance Update Review, Katie Larsen & Kendra Lindahl 13 (Landform) – Ms. Lindahl reviewed a PowerPoint presentation (on file), that included 14 <br />information on the following: 15 <br />- Proposed schedule for bringing forward updates to zoning ordinance as called for by 16 updated Comprehensive Plan; 17 <br />- Planned Unit Development (PUD) discussion is a part of the update, has been reviewed 18 <br />by the Planning and Zoning Board and will be discussed with the council tonight; 19 <br />- Examples of PUDs in the City – Lyngblomsten, Watermark, commercial and industrial; 20 <br />- PUD Open Space – utilized to get more green space; 21 <br />- Greenway System Plan – as included in 2040 Comp Plan; objectives and benefits; 22 protections; 23 - Propose to eliminate PUD by conditional use permit, as recommended by the city 24 <br />attorney; 25 <br />- Adding a table to the ordinance adding a base zoning district; 26 <br />- Move rural PUD (cluster development ) out of zoning and move into subdivision 27 <br />ordinance; 28 - Generally trying to make the PUD regulations more clear; 29 - Adding language for non-residential PUD to make them more harmonious; 30 <br />- Neighborhood meeting element – developer responsibilities; feedback expected early in 31 <br />the process; 32 <br />- Streamlined process; 33 <br />- PUD final plan will go straight to council (not to Planning and Zoning first); 34 <br />- Adding a process for PUD amendments. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Ms. Lindahl noted that the draft amendments presented to the council are the same as 37 <br />what was presented to Planning and Zoning. 38 39 Ms. Lindahl reviewed the additional changes being recommended (see PowerPoint). 40 <br /> 41 <br />Council comments: 42 <br />- Accessory buildings – council pondered the need to allow more than one for such things 43
