Memorandum <br />To: File <br />From: Katie Larsen, City Planner <br />Date: October 18, 2021 <br />Re: Driveway Discussion Summary <br />Summary of Recent Council and Planning & Zoning Board Meetings: <br />• March 5, 2018 Work Session <br />o Councilmember Stoesz requested discussion of possibly increasing the <br />allowable width for residential driveways. <br />o WS staff report detailed current 26 foot wide driveway requirements and <br />neighboring community requirements. <br />o The Council concurred that the current regulations are fine. <br />• January 9, 2019 Planning & Zoning Board Meeting <br />o Agenda Item 6B was Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment Regarding <br />General Provisions. This included driveway widths. <br />o The March 5, 2018 WS staff report was presented to the Planning & <br />Zoning Board. <br />o The Planning & Zoning Board did not support a change the ordinance. <br />They did suggest contractor education or modifications to the permit <br />process. <br />• March 4, 2019 Work Session <br />o Staff presented an update on the January 9, 2019 Planning & Zoning <br />Board meeting regarding amendments to the zoning ordinance, including <br />driveway widths. <br />o The Council did not propose any changes to driveway widths. <br />600 Town Center Parkway, Lino Lakes, MN 55014 <br />Phone: 651-982-2400 • Fax: 651-982-2499 <br />
