January 8, 2020 P&Z Minutes: <br />o In an effort to minimize future driveway width variance requests, the <br />Board recommends contractors be notified and educated on driveway <br />width requirements then take a firmer stance on future variance <br />applications. Staff proposes to mail educational handouts to contractors <br />and further discuss at the spring Contractor's Workshop. <br />Summary of Driveway Width Requirements <br />• 1971-1998: Driveway access shall not exceed 26 feet in width. <br />• 1998-2003 (Ord. No. 09-98): Residential driveways shall not exceed 36 feet as <br />measured at the curb line except within a cul-de-sac where they shall not exceed <br />26 feet as measured at the curb line. <br />• 2003-Current (Ord. No. 08-03): No curb cut shall exceed twenty-six (26) feet in <br />width within a residential zoning district as measured at the street right-of-way <br />line unless approved by the City Engineer. <br />Attachments: <br />1.
