CITY COUNCIL
AGENDA ITEM 1D

STAFF ORIGINATOR: Julie Bartell, City Clerk
MEETING DATE: November 8, 2021
TOPIC:

Consider Resolution No. 21-116, Establishing Polling
Places, 2022 Elections
VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5

INTRODUCTION

All cities conducting elections in 2022 are required to adopt a resolution establishing their
polling places before the end of the year preceding. The City of Lino Lakes will administer
a Primary Election on August 9th and the State General Election on November 8, 2022.

BACKGROUND

The council received a report at the October 11, 2021 work session recommending a change
impacting two polling places beginning in 2022. The council concurred with the
suggestion to designate Lino Lakes Fire Station No. 2 as a new polling place for Precinct 6
and utilize Living Water Church for polling for Precinct 7.

The attached resolution establishes polling places for all seven City voting precincts for the
2022 election.

Redistricting will occur in 2022 so staff will continue to monitor that process as well as the
need to update polling place locations and precinct lines for voter convenience and
population changes and will report back to the council in 2022.

RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 21-116, Establishing Polling Places for the
2022 Elections.

ATTACHMENTS

Resolution No. 21-116
