CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3B <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Karissa Bartholomew, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: February 10, 2020 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Appointment of Administrative Assistant <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The Council is being asked to approve the appointment of Janele Waterman for the vacant <br />Administrative Assistant position. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />There is currently an Administrative Assistant vacancy within the Community Development <br />Department. At this time, staff has completed the recruitment process, provided a conditional <br />offer, and is recommending the approval of Waterman for the position. <br /> <br />Waterman holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and brings with her over four years <br />of experience in administrative support roles. <br /> <br />The hourly rate would be $24.59, which is step 3 of the AFSCME Labor Contract. The wage <br />schedule has six steps. With the Council’s approval, Waterman would start in the position of <br />Administrative Assistant in early March, 2020. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Approve the appointment of Janele Waterman to the Administrative Assistant position. <br />
