Extension of the Main Street trail will provide an important pedestrian/bicycle link to the City’s <br />north side, which has limited trail opportunities. The segment will link the school, and <br />neighborhoods with the Senior Center, Lake/Main commercial center and the Regional Park. <br />An online survey was completed by Anoka County to provide for public input on the proposal. <br />Approximately 200 responses were received. Generally there is strong support for the project <br />from those commenting. A summary of the survey is attached. <br /> <br />The Planning and Zoning Board discussed the project at its April 8th, 2020 meeting and <br />unanimously recommended support for the application. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff is recommending that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 20-40 authorizing submittal of <br />the 2020 Regional Solicitation Grant application for the Main Street Trail. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />1.
