There were many comments requesting more sidewalks and trails in general as well as trail <br />connections to the surrounding communities and specifically trails in the northern part of Lino <br />Lakes. One comment was received that suggests trails in the woods are preferred. <br />4.Variety of Trails Types <br />There were several comments requesting different types of trails, such as non-paved gravel <br />trails; cross country ski trails ideally with snowmaking; mountain bike and off-road running trails; <br />and turning the snowmobile trail along north end of Peltier into walking path. <br />5.Trail Maintenance <br />There were a few comments concerning the maintenance of trails during the winter months and <br />requesting better winter maintenance of trails; in addition, a there were a few other comments <br />about maintaining existing trails prior to the addition of new trails. <br />6.Amenities <br />One of the survey questions was what amenities would be beneficial to have along this trail <br />segment? The most common responses are listed below (not in any order): <br />a.Trash/recycle containers <br />b.Lights <br />c.Benches <br />d.Restrooms <br />e.Drinking water/fountain <br />f.Bike fix-it station <br />g.Dog bag stations <br />h.Trail map signs <br />i.Security cameras <br />There were also a few comments regarding the need for enforcement for dog owners to pick up <br />after their dogs and one requesting that the snowmobile trail that was there for 30 years be <br />reinstalled and connect to the existing trails so snowmobilers could get to businesses and other <br />trails. <br />In addition to amenities along the trail, respondents were also asked about different parks and <br />trails amenities needed in the community. Several comments were received and are listed <br />below: <br />a.A few comments stating a need for play structures along trails or as a destination connected <br />by trails <br />b.Swings at City Hall Park <br />c.Skate parks <br />d.Basketball hoops and tennis courses at Lino Lakes Elementary to create a community <br />destination <br />e.Dog park <br />f.Splash pad <br />g.Add water toy amenities at Centerville Beach to encourage use there to reduce the <br />attraction of jumping from pedestrian bridges along Rice Creek and Chomonix Golf Course
