CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 20-93 <br />ACKNOWLEDGING ALLOCATION FROM ANOKA COUNTY OF CARES ACT <br />ELECTION GRANT FUNDS <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State (OSS) received funding through the <br />2020 CARES Act “to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus, domestically or <br />internationally, for the 2020 Federal election cycle.”; and <br />WHEREAS, these funds are separate from the larger CARES Act money received by the City; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County’s allocation of $272,782.08 is being offered to municipalities under <br />an allocation plan recommended by the Minnesota Secretary of State and the City of Lino Lakes’ <br />allocation is $11,220.30; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff has developed a plan to utilize these funds to prevent, prepare for and <br />respond to coronavirus in the city for absentee voting and at polling locations, including <br />consideration of the required 20% funding match; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes: <br />The City hereby acknowledges that the sum of $11,220.30 will be provided by the Anoka <br />County to the municipality under the CARES Act grant to which the County is the Grantee, and <br />the City acknowledges that it is subject to the provisions of paragraphs 1 through 5, 7 through <br />11 and 13 through 15 of the 2020 CARES Act Grant Agreement as if it were the Grantee. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 24th day of August, 2020. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Councilmember <br />_______________and was duly seconded by Councilmember ________________ and upon vote <br />being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />The following voted against same: <br />_______________________________ <br />Rob Rafferty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />________________________ <br />Julianne Bartell, City Clerk
