COUNCIL MINUTES DRAFT 2 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT 42 There was no report from the Administration Department. 43 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT 44 6A) Consider Acceptance of Donated Gift Cards – Public Safety Director Swenson remarked 45 that many people have been bringing in donations for the Police Department in recognition of current 46 conditions. There is an abundance of gift cards at this time and the department is unable to provide 47 them to volunteers (none working at this time). He is requesting therefore that the council accept 48 the gift cards on behalf of the City so they can be used within the department for miscellaneous 49 needs. Councilmember Lyden remarked that using them to reward wellness would be a good use 50 also. 51 Councilmember Stoesz moved to authorize the receipt and use of donated cards as recommended. 52 Councilmember Lyden seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 53 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT 54 There was no report from the Public Services Department. 55 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT REPORT 56 6A) Consider Approval of Public Hearing and Ordinance No. 05-20, Vacating Drainage 57 and Utility Easement Lot 14, Block 2, NorthPointe 2nd Addition – City Engineer Hankee 58 reviewed her written staff report. A resident is requesting the vacation in order to allow 59 construction of a deck to an existing home. Staff is supportive of the vacation based on the 60 easement being larger than needed. 61 Mayor Rafferty opened the public hearing. 62 There being no one present wishing to speak, the public hearing was closed. 63 Councilmember Stoesz moved to approve the 1st Reading of Ordinance No. 05-20 as presented. 64 Councilmember Cavegn seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 65 6B) Consider Approval of Resolution No. 20-118, Adopting Assessments, 2020 Individual 66 Properties – City Engineer Hankee explained that adoption of individual assessment is requested. 67 These assessment that have been requested by property owners. She reviewed the list of requests. 68 Councilmember Cavegn asked for confirmation that wells can still remain in place but without a 69 connection to the home (for non-potable water use only). 70 Councilmember Ruhland moved to approve Resolution No. 20-118 as presented. Councilmember 71 Lyden seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 72 6C) Consider Approval of Resolution No. 20-119, Adopting Assessments, Nadeau Acres, 73 City Engineer Hankee explained that the adoption of assessments related to the Nadeau Acres 74 development is requested. Assessment of these costs was included in the development agreement as 75 consent. 76
