CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3D <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Meg Sawyer, Human Resources and Communications Manager <br />MEETING DATE: February 14, 2022 <br />TOPIC: Consider Appointment of Utilities Maintenance Worker <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The City Council is being asked to approve the appointment of Gavin Anderson to the vacant <br />Utilities Maintenance Worker position in the Public Works department. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Staff has completed the recruitment process, provided a conditional offer, and is recommending <br />the approval of Gavin Anderson for the position. <br />Anderson graduated from Coon Rapids High School and has previous Public Works experience <br />at the City of Brooklyn Center. <br />The hourly rate of pay would be $28.53, which is Step 1 of the current 6 step wage schedule. <br />With Council's approval, Anderson would start in the position on March 1, 2022. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve the appointment of Gavin Anderson to the Utilities Maintenance Worker position. <br />
