Evironmental Board <br />May 28, 2014 <br />Page 5 <br />APPROVED MINUTES <br /> <br />The following recommendations were made by the Environmental Board concerning <br />Isabelle Estates <br /> <br />1. Any imported soils must be approved by the City <br />2. A concrete washout area must be indicated on the Sediment and Erosion <br />Control Plan <br />3. The Tree Preservation Plan and Landscape Plan shall be resubmitted in <br />compliance with the ordinance <br />4. The developer will provided 1 boulevard tree per lot frontage for each house. <br />Tree species must be the same species as those existing on the street. Arlo <br />Lane would be Thornless Honeylocust, and Lois Lane would be Freeman <br />Maple ‘Celzam’ if available <br />5. A sediment and erosion control plan must be submitted and acceptable to the <br />City <br /> <br />6. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Earth Day <br /> <br />Mr. Alseson asked the Enivormental Board how did the public react with the new <br />activites and updated posters for Earth Day <br /> <br />Ms. Morin stated that the activies went well but would like to see more people attend <br />and also more volunteers. Ms. Morin would like to see more advertizing about the <br />event. <br /> <br />The seed ball and Origami bird projects were well received and the children enjoyed <br />partipating in creating their own projects to take home. <br /> <br />Ms. Morin would like to see about doing a video of the right and wrong way of what <br />not to put in the storm water system. Ms. Morin will contact the cable TV and will <br />try to set up a meeting with them. <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated that the free mattress disposal coupons were received well by the <br />public. On the Annual Recycling Day there were 23 mattress coupons collected <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson will put Earth Day prep work on February 2015 agenda. <br /> <br />B. Annual Recycling Day Update <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated that he didn’t have all the totals yet but the only number he knew <br />for sure was that there was 20 tons of steel. <br /> <br />C. Peltier Island Heron Rookery Update <br />
