Evironmental Board <br />May 25, 2016 <br />Page 5 <br />APPROVED MINUTES <br />Mr. Heiskary suggested that Ms. Bryand can present at the board and then she can <br />do some additional talks at other locations. We will put it first on the agenda. <br /> <br /> <br />B. Recycling Day Discussion, Marty Asleson <br />Mr. Asleson mentioned that at the annual city wide recycling there was not as many <br />people. We offer tires, carpet and paper shedding which is not offered at our <br />Saturday monthly event. <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson suggested a shorter hours for the annual recycling day for next year. <br /> <br />C. Recycling Updates, Aubrey Fonfara <br /> <br />Ms. Fonfara was happy to announce that the City of Lino Lakes recived a award <br />called Reuse Pioneer from Anoka County for starting the program of donating <br />furniture to Bridging and St. Vincent De Paul. <br /> <br />Organic drop off program partitipation is at 89 households which is about 1.4% of <br />the population of the City of Lino Lakes. <br /> <br />So far 205 bags of organics has been collected. As of those participating in the <br />program 52% heard about it from the recycling flyer, 32% from the city newsletter <br />and 8% from their neighbors. A lot of the people are within 2 miles of the organics <br />drop off sites. <br /> <br />Mr. Heiskary would like to have the information published somewhere. Such as the <br />Quad, web site and city newsletter. Also add questions and answer about orgainics <br />recycling. <br /> <br />Ms. Bor would like to see the recycling information presented to the City Council. <br /> <br />Next Recycling Saturday will be June 18, 2016. <br /> <br />VII. ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Ms. Andrzejewski made a MOTION to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m. Motion was <br />supported by Ms. Kaufenberg.
