Evironmental Board <br />May 25, 2016 <br />Page 4 <br />APPROVED MINUTES <br />features will likely be needed to incorporate additional stormwater management <br />practices and features in to the project design. <br /> <br />Mr. Sullivan asked what the time line for this development is and are these single <br />level townhomes. <br />Mike Suel from DR Horton Inc., stated that they are hoping to get started this fall <br />and the townhomes are three level. <br /> <br />Ms. Kaufenberg asked if the city was working with home owners association’s in <br />regards to best management practices on chemical usage, irrigation and recycling as <br />well as organics recycling. <br /> <br />Mr. Suel said there will be a HOA for the whole site. As far as water conservation <br />practices there will be soil sensors as part of the water usage for this project. <br /> <br />Ms. Bor thanked Mr. Suel for his openness to the suggestions of the Woods Edge <br />development. <br /> <br />Mr. Suel said if the Board has any more ideas or suggestions please share them with <br />Mr. Asleson for it will be easier and more cost effective to input the changes up <br />front instead of after the development is in. <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson mentioned that part of the recommendation should be that the native <br />areas around the ponds should be maintained by a company that is approved by the <br />City in the installing and maintaining of this area for five years. <br /> <br />Ms. Bor made a MOTION to recommend approvable of this project with the <br />changes suggested by the Environmental Board as it goes on to the P&Z Board and <br />then the project should come back to the Environmental Board. Amendments to the <br />recommendations is to add nature plantings by the ponds and Ms. Kaufenberg <br />suggestion to add a plan for recycling and to use best management practices. Ms. <br />Andrzejewski seconded. Motioned carried 6 -0. <br /> <br />VI DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Minnesota Bird Talk, Liz Kaufenberg <br /> <br />Ms. Kaufenberg has talked to Monica Bryand and it looks like September 28 <br />Environmental Board meeting is when she would like to present her findings and <br />also invite the public to this meeting. Minnesota Birds and Endangered Species is <br />what the talk would be about. <br /> <br />Ms. Bor mentioned that it should be advertised in the City’s newsletter, web site and <br />in the newspaper. <br />
