2) <br />The Board urged the Village Council to please appoint a new member to replace Mr. <br />Brovold as soon as possible. <br />The Jandric water franchise was discussed at great length. Mr. Rehbein stated that <br />all other home builders and buyers in the Village of Lino Lakes plan on the expense <br />of a water system at the time they build or buy their home. He could see no reason <br />why the Jandric buyers could not expect this cost to be included in the purchase <br />price of the home, and Jandric could give his system to the Village for $1.-D0. <br />W. Locher had heard of one example where this had been done in another Village and <br />there were two main difficulties with this instance; <br />1) The Village had no control over the installation of the pipes and they were <br />placed 'helter- skelter' all aver the development. <br />2) The developer thought it was too expensive to send out water bills so the <br />buyers never paid a bill and when the Village got the system they had to put meters <br />in every house. so the owners had to pay a meter deposit and start paying for water, <br />which made them very.angry. <br />Mr. Jester emphasised that it is the DUTY of the Board of Zoning and the Village <br />Council to protect the present and future taxpayers of Lino Lakes and WI their <br />duty to insure a profit for any land developer. <br />Mr. McLean moved to recommend to the Council that they look into the possibility of <br />having Jandric turn over the water system to the Village for $1.00 in lieu of a buy- <br />back feature. Seconded by Mr. Jester. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. McLean announced the next meeting for July 16th. <br />Mr. Husnik moved to adjourn at 9:25, seconded by Mr. Kelling. Carried.
