2)
The Board urged the Village Council to please appoint a new member to replace Mr.
Brovold as soon as possible.
The Jandric water franchise was discussed at great length. Mr. Rehbein stated that
all other home builders and buyers in the Village of Lino Lakes plan on the expense
of a water system at the time they build or buy their home. He could see no reason
why the Jandric buyers could not expect this cost to be included in the purchase
price of the home, and Jandric could give his system to the Village for $1.-D0.
W. Locher had heard of one example where this had been done in another Village and
there were two main difficulties with this instance;
1) The Village had no control over the installation of the pipes and they were
placed 'helter- skelter' all aver the development.
2) The developer thought it was too expensive to send out water bills so the
buyers never paid a bill and when the Village got the system they had to put meters
in every house. so the owners had to pay a meter deposit and start paying for water,
which made them very.angry.
Mr. Jester emphasised that it is the DUTY of the Board of Zoning and the Village
Council to protect the present and future taxpayers of Lino Lakes and WI their
duty to insure a profit for any land developer.
Mr. McLean moved to recommend to the Council that they look into the possibility of
having Jandric turn over the water system to the Village for $1.00 in lieu of a buy-
back feature. Seconded by Mr. Jester. Carried unanimously.
Mr. McLean announced the next meeting for July 16th.
Mr. Husnik moved to adjourn at 9:25, seconded by Mr. Kelling. Carried.
