Some action should be taken even to the extent of having <br />the building inspector sign a complaint. <br />W. Rehbein asked that every Board member go through the Blaine ordinance and <br />outline and change it to suit our needs. The Ordinance will be gone over at the <br />October meeting. <br />A special('i ing with the Council was set up for September 25 at 8 p.m. to <br />continue the comprehensive planning and zoning of the previous special meeting. <br />Mr. Rehbein asked Mr. Locher if the Village could do anything about the hard core <br />juveniles which are being sent to the Youth Center. Mr. Locher replied the only <br />thing would be publicity end through the Legislature. *. Rehbein stated that the <br />Center bed been set up for emotionally disturbed children and for diagnostic pur- <br />poses for delinquents and not for hard core criminals and did not have the facilities <br />to take care of this problem. Both fir. Locher and Mr. Bohjanen stated that the Village <br />should be compensated for the public facility in our Village. Mr. Rehbein recom- <br />mended that the Council write a letter to the legislature stating our objection to <br />hard core criminals at the Center. Mrs. Bohjanen stated that the best way to get <br />publicity was to have housewives canvass the neighborhood with petitions. Mr. <br />Bahianen felt that people do not make public statements at Council meetings but <br />in private conversations you will find much opposition to the Center consuming <br />escapees. NU,. Rehbein recounted manor items which were missing fr ibin business <br />which he credited to the enoapees. He wondered if a whistle could be blown every <br />time there is =escape, but Mr. Bohjanen said this had been suggested before <br />and the officials at the Center objected to the publicity and constantly are trying <br />to keep the break -outs quiet. Nr. Bohjanen stated that if anyone would start a <br />publicity campaign they would have his support. All agreed that the only time <br />we get publicity is when something drastic happens and then it is too late. <br />Mr. Belling moved to adjourn at 10 ;10 p.n. Seconded by Ur. McLean. Carried.
