1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />Design Review Board <br />October 10, 1990 <br />Chairperson Fred Chase called the regular meeting of the Design <br />Review Board to order at 7:01 p.m. at the Lino Lakes City Hall. <br />Members present were: Monika Slatten, Robert King, Fred Chase, and <br />John Bergeson. Absent was: Al Robinson. Also present was <br />Building Official, Pete Kluegel; City Engineer, Dan Boxrud; and <br />Planning Secretary, Laura Elken. <br />CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br />MOTION: Robert King moved to approve the minutes of September 12, <br />1990 as written. John Bergeson seconded the motion and the motion <br />was approved. <br />OPEN MIKE <br />No one appeared before open mike. <br />REVIEW OF A CONCEPT PLAN FOR THE WENZEL PROPERTY CONSISTING OF A <br />MIXTURE OF SINGLE FAMILY HOMES AND MULTI - FAMILY HOUSING LOCATED OFF <br />LAKE DRIVE. <br />No one was present to address the concept plan. <br />Background from memo written by John Miller. <br />Hokanson Plumbing from Blaine has agreed to purchase the 66 acre <br />Wenzel property located south of Elm Street and west of Lake Drive. <br />The Hokanson people wish to subdivide the land for single- family <br />residential purposes with townhomes adjacent to Lake Drive. <br />Kirk Corson, Hokanson's planner, has visited with homeowners <br />adjacent to the Wenzel land. Mr. Miller has advised Corson the <br />future development of the backyards of the Rice Lake Lane residents <br />would be an issue, e.g. should road access be provided so <br />subdivision of the one -acre lots can be completed. Corson is <br />meeting with the residents another time and after that meeting we <br />should have a good idea of what these homeowners want. <br />John Bergeson addressed fire access to some of the proposed <br />townhomes. The townhomes not to the very south, but the next ones <br />to the north appeared to be positioned so that emergency vehicles <br />may have a problem arriving at the site.
