Custom Fire Apparatus, Inc. <br />VEHICLE TOP SPEED <br />The top speed of the vehicle shall be approximately 75 MPH +/-2 MPH at governed engine RPM. <br />REAR SUSPENSION <br />The tandem axle rear suspension shall be a Ridewell Dynalastic RD202 with accordion elastomer <br />springs, incorporating a straddle mount pedestal and urethane pivot bushings, preset load distribution and <br />independent axle movement. The rear tandem suspension shall have 54.00 inch axle centers. <br />The rear tandem suspension capacity shall be rated at 40,000 to 48,000 pounds. <br />REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS <br />Shock absorbers shall be supplied by the suspension manufacturer and installed on the rear axle <br />suspension. <br />TIRE INTERMITTENT SERVICE RATING <br />The chassis shall be rated using Intermittent Service ratings provided to the emergency vehicle market by <br />the tire manufacturers as the basis for determining the maximum vehicle load and speed. <br />FRONT TIRE <br />The front tires shall be Michelin 425/65R-22.5 20PR "L" tubeless radial XZY3 mixed service tread. <br />The front tire stamped load capacity shall be 22,800 pounds per axle with a nominal speed rating of 65 <br />miles per hour when properly inflated to 120 pounds per square inch. <br />The Michelin Intermittent Service Rating maximum load capacity shall be 24,396 pounds per axle with a <br />maximum speed of 65 miles per hour when properly inflated to 120 pounds per square inch. <br />The Michelin Intermittent Service Rating maximum speed capacity shall be 22,800 pounds per axle with <br />a speed rating of 75 miles per hour when properly inflated to 120 pounds per square inch. <br />The Michelin Intermittent Service Rating limits the operation of the emergency vehicle to no more than <br />fifty (50) miles of continuous operation under maximum recommended payload, or without stopping for <br />at least twenty (20) minutes. The emergency vehicle must reduce its speed to no more than 50 MPH after <br />the first fifty (50) miles of travel. <br />REAR TIRE <br />The rear tires shall be Michelin 315/80R-22.5 20PR "L" tubeless radial XDN2 Grip all weather tread. <br />The rear tire stamped load capacity shall be 33,080 pounds per axle with a nominal speed rating of 75 <br />miles per hour when properly inflated to 130 pounds per square inch. <br />The Michelin Intermittent Service Rating maximum load capacity shall be 35,396 pounds per axle with a <br />maximum speed of 75 miles per hour when properly inflated to 130 pounds per square inch. <br />The Michelin Intermittent Service Rating maximum speed capacity shall match the nominal speed rating. <br />07/26/22 <br />-26- <br />
