Custom Fire Apparatus, Inc. <br />The Michelin Intermittent Service Rating limits the operation of the emergency vehicle to no more than <br />fifty (50) miles of continuous operation under maximum recommended payload, or without stopping for <br />at least twenty (20) minutes. The emergency vehicle must reduce its speed to no more than 50 MPH after <br />the first fifty (50) miles of travel. <br />REAR AXLE RATIO <br />The rear axle ratio shall be 4.89:1. <br />TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR <br />There shall be electronic chrome LED valve caps shipped loose for installation by the OEM which shall <br />illuminate with a red LED when tire pressure drops 8psi provided. The valve caps are self -calibrating and <br />set to the pressure of the tire upon installation. <br />FRONT WHEEL <br />The front wheels shall be Alcoa hub piloted, 22.50 inch X 12.25 inch aluminum wheels. The outer face <br />of the wheels shall feature Alcoa's Dura-Bright® finish as an integral part of the wheel surface. Alcoa <br />Dura-Bright® wheels keep their shine without polishing. Brake dust, grime and road debris are easily <br />removed by simply cleaning the wheels with soap and water. The hub piloted mounting system shall <br />provide easy installation and shall include two-piece flange nuts. <br />REAR WHEEL <br />The outer rear wheels shall be Alcoa hub piloted, 22.50 inch X 9.00 inch aluminum wheels with a <br />polished outer surface and Alcoa Dura-Bright® wheel treatment as an integral part of the wheel. The <br />inner rear wheels shall be Alcoa hub piloted, 22.50 inch X 9.00 inch aluminum wheels with a bright <br />machine finish. The hub piloted mounting system shall provide easy installation and shall include <br />two-piece flange nuts. <br />BALANCE WHEELS AND TIRES <br />All of the wheels and tires, including any spare wheels and tire assemblies, shall include Counteract <br />brand balancing beads. <br />WHEEL TRIM <br />The front wheels shall include stainless steel lug nut covers and stainless steel baby moons shipped loose <br />with the chassis for installation by the apparatus builder. The baby moons shall have cutouts for oil seal <br />viewing when applicable. <br />The rear wheels shall include stainless steel lug nut covers and band mounted spring clip stainless steel <br />high hats shipped loose with the chassis for installation by the apparatus builder. <br />The lug nut covers, baby moons, and high hats shall be RealWheels® brand constructed of 304L grade, <br />non -corrosive stainless steel with a mirror finish.
