Custom Fire Apparatus, Inc. <br />There shall be two (2) Whelen Engineering Inc. model SP123BMC, 100 watt cast aluminum speakers <br />provided. Each speaker shall measure 7.25 inches tall X 9.25 inches wide X 5.25 inches deep. Each <br />speaker shall include a chrome grille. <br />ELECTRONIC SIREN SPEAKER LOCATION <br />The electronic siren speaker shall be located on the flat surfaces of the angled front right and left corners <br />of the bumper. <br />FRONT BUMPER TOW HOOKS <br />Two (2) heavy duty chrome plated tow hooks shall be installed below the front bumper in the forward <br />position, bolted directly to the underside of each chassis frame rail with grade 8 bolts. <br />FRONT BUMPER TOW EYES <br />The bumper shall include two (2) chrome plated tow eyes shall be installed through the front bumper. <br />The eyes shall be fabricated from 0.75 inch thick #1020 ASTM-A36 hot rolled steel. The inside diameter <br />of the eye shall be 2.00 inches and include inside/outside chamfered edges. <br />TOW FORK PROVISION <br />Two (2) heavy duty steel towing forks shall be bolt -on to the underside of the frame flange and butted to <br />the bottom frame with a fish plate joint. Each shall be shaped like an upside down "U" to act as a <br />designated hookup point to accept a tow bar from a service vehicle without having to reach the front axle. <br />The robust design shall allow a disabled vehicle to be lifted and towed without doing damage to the <br />bumper or bumper mounted options. The provisions shall be mounted directly behind the cab tilt cross <br />member to provide optimal vehicle stability while maintaining access for most heavy duty tow stingers. <br />CAB TILT SYSTEM <br />The entire cab shall be capable of tilting approximately 45-degrees to allow for easy maintenance of the <br />engine and transmission. The cab tilt pump assembly shall be located on the right side of the chassis <br />above the battery box. <br />The electric -over -hydraulic lift system shall include an ignition interlock and red cab lock down indicator <br />lamp on the tilt control which shall illuminate when holding the "Down" button to indicate safe road <br />operation. <br />It shall be necessary to activate the master battery switch and set the parking brake in order to tilt the <br />cab. As a third precaution the ignition switch must be turned off to complete the cab tilt interlock safety <br />circuit. <br />Two (2) spring -loaded hydraulic hold down hooks located outboard of the frame shall be installed to hold <br />the cab securely to the frame. Once the hold-down hooks are set in place, it shall take the application of <br />pressure from the hydraulic cab tilt lift pump to release the hooks. <br />Two (2) cab tilt cylinders shall be provided with velocity fuses in each cylinder port. The cab tilt pivots <br />shall be 1.90 inch ball and be anchored to frame brackets with 1.25 inch diameter studs. <br />07/26/22 <br />-34- <br />
