Custom Fire Apparatus, Inc. <br />The battery trays shall include drain holes in the bottom for sufficient drainage of water. A durable, <br />non -conducting, interlocking mat made by Dri-Dek shall be installed in the bottom of the trays to allow <br />for air flow and help prevent moisture build up. The batteries shall be held in place by non -conducting <br />phenolic resin hold down boards. <br />BATTERY BOX COVER <br />Each battery box shall include a steel cover which protects the top of the batteries. Each cover shall <br />include flush latches which shall keep the cover secure as well as a black powder coated handle for <br />convenience when opening. <br />BATTERY CABLE <br />The starting system shall include cables which shall be protected by 275 degree F. minimum high <br />temperature flame retardant loom, sealed at the ends with heat shrink and sealant. <br />BATTERY JUMPER STUD <br />The starting system shall include battery jumper studs. These studs shall be located in the forward most <br />portion of the driver's side lower step, 8.00 inches apart. The studs shall allow the vehicle to be jump <br />started, charged, or the cab to be raised in an emergency in the event of battery failure. <br />ALTERNATOR <br />The charging system shall include a 320 amp Leece-Neville 12 volt alternator. The alternator shall <br />include a self -exciting integral regulator. <br />STARTER MOTOR <br />The single start electrical system shall include a Delco brand starter motor. <br />BATTERY CONDITIONER <br />A Kussmaul Auto Charge 40 LPC battery conditioner shall be supplied. The battery conditioner shall <br />provide a 40 amp output for the chassis batteries and a 15 amp output circuit for accessory loads. The <br />battery conditioner shall be mounted in the cab in the LH rear facing outer seating position. <br />BATTERY CONDITIONER DISPLAY <br />A Kussmaul battery conditioner display shall be supplied. The battery conditioner display shall be <br />mounted in the cab, viewable through the cab mid side window behind the left front door. <br />AUXILIARY AIR COMPRESSOR <br />A Kussmaul Auto Pump 120V air compressor shall be supplied. The air compressor shall be installed <br />under the dashboard on the right-hand side, forward of the officer's seating position. The air compressor <br />shall be plumbed to the air brake system to maintain air pressure. <br />ELECTRICAL INLET LOCATION <br />An electrical inlet shall be installed on the left hand side of cab over the wheel well. <br />ELECTRICAL INLET <br />A Kussmaul 20 amp super auto -eject electrical receptacle shall be supplied.
