Custom Fire Apparatus, Inc. <br />FILTERED COMPARTMENT VENTING <br />Back walls of all apparatus body side compartments, including: six (6) lower level (below top of chassis <br />frame rails) 2-ahead of and 1-behind the wheel well housings, are to be equipped with vented <br />pass -through openings to the body under side. Vented openings are to be covered with 3M water resistant <br />mesh filter media and an interior compartment metal grille. Grille is to be attached to the interior <br />compartment wall with reusable stainless steel screw fasteners with nylon threaded inserts, allowing for <br />removal and cleaning of the filter media from inside of each vented compartment. Inboard compartment <br />back wall (outboard of tank), at each individual vent, is to be provided with rubber "flaps" installed to <br />prevent water from entering compartment from underside of body. Vent openings, mesh filter media, and <br />removable grille must allow for dust and moisture free ventilation of the compartment interiors, without <br />reduction of the interior compartment depth. <br />RUBRAIL, POLISHED "MIRROR FINISH" STAINLESS STEEL <br />Rubrails shall be located immediately below the sweep -out bottom door threshold, extending from front <br />to rear of body. Rubrails are to be channel shaped with flanges intboard/flat surface outboard, spaced <br />away from body with non-metallic shims, to allow for wash -out and absorption of minor impacts without <br />damage to body flange. <br />Rubrails shall be bolted in position, easily replaceable. <br />BODY FENDER MOLDINGS <br />Polished extruded aluminum 25" radius wheelwell moldings shall be furnished, bolted in position <br />surrounding driver's side and passenger's side rear body "radius" wheelwell cut-outs. Wheel well molding <br />fasteners shall be concealed beneath the extrusion, NOTE: The profile of these moldings will allow the <br />apparatus body to remain within the legal overall width as required by Federal D.O.T. vehicle standards, <br />furthermore; wheelwell moldings will not extend beyond the purchaser specified rub rails. <br />TUBULAR HANDRAILS, VERTICAL REAR INBOARD CORNERS <br />Apparatus body tubular railings are to be furnished, consisting of: 1-.25" o.d. extruded aluminum tubing, <br />chrome plated double bolt type 3" stand-off end type and center rail brackets, and neoprene rubber <br />surface mounting gaskets furnished between rail bracket and painted body surface. <br />Tubular railings at step areas are to be provided with an aggressive machined "knurled" non -slip exterior <br />surface. Two (2) tubular railings are to be located: 1-passenger's side and 1-driver's side at vertical rear <br />inboard compartment corners. <br />Two (2) tubular railings are to be located: 1-passenger's side and 1-driver's side at vertical rear inboard or <br />outboard compartment corners.
