Custom Fire Apparatus, Inc.
All 12-volt switches, relays, terminals, connectors, and wiring to have a direct current rating of 125% of
maximum current for which the current is protected. All wiring terminals are to be machine crimped,
pull -tested during assembly.
POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER
A power distribution center is to be provided, located is a void area within a forward side compartment,
and is to contain engineered electrical components and waterproof pin/socket bulkhead connectors. Spare
circuit breaker sockets are to be furnished for future use.
An enclosed electric junction cubby is to be provided, within the designated void area, made accessible
through a removable section of the inside front compartment bulkhead. The removable panel is to be
"flush" with the bulkhead, and provided with at least four (4) trigger latches for quick release.
BATTERY CABLE UPGRADE
A minimum 2-0 multi -stranded copper insulated battery cable is to run from the optionally specified
battery switch through a 300-amp solenoid, to a chassis frame mounted threaded stud terminal block,
providing power to high amperage items such as: primer motor, reel rewind motors, accessory starter
motor, etc.
"Vehicle Specific" wiring information is to be provided for this particular apparatus "as built" upon
completed delivery of the same. Information to be in spreadsheet format, describing PDC connections
and functions.
SWITCHING OF APPARATUS BODY 12-VOLT ELECTRICAL FIXTURES
Specified emergency lighting fixtures, non -emergency lighting fixtures, and electrical components which
are located on the exterior of the apparatus body, are to be activated by fully illuminated switching
hardware as is provided by the chassis manufacturer.
LOAD MANAGEMENT
Load Management is to be incorporated into the furnished VMUX system. The load management system
is to be capable of providing designated output load shedding, scene mode operation and response mode
operation.
Outputs are to be independently programmable to activate during the scene mode, the response mode or
both.
The load management system is to automatically activate upon activation of the apparatus parking
brakes. Any pre -determined load, as designated by Customer, is to shed upon activation of load
management thereby reducing the electrical demand of the apparatus to the pre-programmed
"ON -SCENE" mode. LOAD MANAGEMENT DURING APPARATUS RESPONSE IS NOT
ACCEPTABLE.
07/26/22
- 139 -
