utilizing a minimum of 0.25 inch thick gusset reinforcement plates at all corners balancing the area of <br />force throughout the entire frame. <br />Any proposals not including additional reinforcement for each cross member shall not be considered. <br />All relief areas shall be cut in with a minimum 2.00 inch radius at intersection points with the edges <br />ground to a smooth finish to prevent a stress concentration point. <br />FRAME CLEAR AREA <br />The chassis frame shall be left clear of chassis mounted components between the centerline of chassis <br />and the left hand frame rail from 34.00 inches forward of the centerline of rear axle to 46.00 inches <br />forward of the centerline of rear axle for OEM installed components. <br />FRAME PAINT <br />The frame shall be hot dip galvanized prior to assembly and attachment of any components. The <br />components that shall be galvanized shall include: <br />• Main frame "C" channel or channels <br />• Front splayed rails and fish plates <br />• Cross members (excluding suspension cross members) <br />• Cross member gussets <br />• Fuel tank mounting brackets <br />• Fuel tank straps (unless material/finish is specified in 3130 subcat) <br />• Air tank mounting brackets (unless material/finish is specified in 3205, 3305, or 2232 <br />subcat) <br />• Exhaust mounting brackets <br />• Air dryer bracket <br />• Air cleaner skid plate (if applicable) <br />• Radiator skid plate (if applicable) <br />• Battery supports <br />• Battery trays (unless material/finish is specified in 5106 subcat) <br />• Battery covers (unless material/finish is specified in 5107 subcat) <br />The frame parts which are not galvanized shall be powder coated prior to any attachment of <br />components. Parts which shall be powder coated shall include but are not limited to: <br />• Bumper extensions <br />• Steering gear bracket <br />• Air tanks (unless color coded tanks are specified in 3205 subcat) <br />Other non -galvanized under carriage components which are received from the suppliers with coatings <br />already applied shall include but are not limited to: <br />• Suspension components <br />• Front and rear axles <br />All powder coatings, primers and paint used on the non -galvanized components shall be compatible with <br />all metals, pretreatments and primers used.
