Two (2) heavy duty tow hooks, painted to match the frame components, shall be installed below the <br />front bumper in the forward position, bolted directly to the underside of each chassis frame rail with <br />grade 8 bolts. <br />TOW FORK PROVISION <br />Two (2) heavy duty steel towing forks shall be bolt -on to the underside of the frame flange and butted to <br />the bottom frame with a fish plate joint. Each shall be shaped like an upside down "U" to act as a <br />designated hookup point to accept a tow bar from a service vehicle without having to reach the front <br />axle. The robust design shall allow a disabled vehicle to be lifted and towed without doing damage to <br />the bumper or bumper mounted options. The provisions shall be mounted directly behind the cab tilt <br />cross member to provide optimal vehicle stability while maintaining access for most heavy duty tow <br />stingers. <br />CAB TILT SYSTEM <br />The entire cab shall be capable of tilting approximately 45-degrees to allow for easy maintenance of the <br />engine and transmission. The cab tilt pump assembly shall be located on the right side of the chassis <br />above the battery box. <br />The electric -over -hydraulic lift system shall include an ignition interlock and red cab lock down <br />indicator lamp on the tilt control which shall illuminate when holding the "Down" button to indicate safe <br />road operation. <br />It shall be necessary to activate the master battery switch and set the parking brake in order to tilt the <br />cab. As a third precaution the ignition switch must be turned off to complete the cab tilt interlock safety <br />circuit. <br />Two (2) spring -loaded hydraulic hold down hooks located outboard of the frame shall be installed to <br />hold the cab securely to the frame. Once the hold-down hooks are set in place, it shall take the <br />application of pressure from the hydraulic cab tilt lift pump to release the hooks. <br />Two (2) cab tilt cylinders shall be provided with velocity fuses in each cylinder port. The cab tilt pivots <br />shall be 1.90 inch ball and be anchored to frame brackets with 1.25 inch diameter studs. <br />A steel safety channel assembly, painted safety yellow shall be installed on the right side cab lift <br />cylinder to prevent accidental cab lowering. The safety channel assembly shall fall over the lift cylinder <br />when the cab is in the fully tilted position. A cable release system shall also be provided to retract the <br />safety channel assembly from the lift cylinder to allow the lowering of the cab. <br />CAB TILT AUXILIARY PUMP <br />A manual cab tilt pump module shall be attached to the cab tilt pump housing. <br />CAB TILT LIMIT SWITCH <br />A cab tilt limit switch shall be installed. The switch will effectively limit the travel of the cab when <br />being tilted. The limit adjustment of the switch shall be preset by the chassis manufacturer to prevent <br />damage to the cab or any bumper mounted option mounted in the cab tilt arc. Further adjustment to the <br />limit by the apparatus manufacturer shall be available to accommodate additional equipment. <br />CAB TILT CONTROL RECEPTACLE <br />
