<br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6F <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, City Engineer <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: August 8, 2022 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 22-75, Approving Payment No. 9 and <br />Final, NE Drainage Area Improvement Project <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting council action to finalize the NE Drainage Area Improvement Project <br />construction contract with Jacon LLC. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On November 9, 2020, the City awarded the NE Drainage Area Improvement Project to Jacon <br />LLC in the amount of $1,010,009.00. The project included a new storm water conveyance <br />system from the east side of 20th Avenue to the Peltier Lake. The project provides a surface <br />water outlet for the entire 1,300 acre Northeast Drainage Area in conformance with the <br />Comprehensive Surface Water Management Plan. <br /> <br />On September 27, 2021, the City approved Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $17,332.62 <br />for the NE Drainage Area Improvement Project. Change Order No. 1 covered additional <br />earthwork, subgrade excavation, street restoration, and traffic control. The Northeast Drainage <br />Area Improvement Project contract with Jacon, LLC with Change Order No. 1 increased to <br />$1,027,341.62. <br /> <br />The project was successfully completed with the final contract amount of $1,027,341.65 of <br />which $25,683.54 remains to be paid to the contractor. This project is funded through the <br />Surface Water Management Fund. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Approve Resolution No. 22-75, Approving Payment No. 9 and Final, NE Drainage Area <br />Improvement Project in the amount of $25,683.54 to Jacon LLC. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />1.
