Motion carried 5 – 0. Chair Tralle abstained. <br />Mr. Evenson made a MOTION to recommend approval of the Rehbein Site <br />Development Prep Conditional Use Permit subject to conditions listed in the staff <br />report. Motion was supported by Mr. Vojtech. Motion carried 5 – 0. Chair Tralle <br />abstained <br /> <br />VIII. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Lake and Main Redevelopment <br /> <br />Mr. Grochala, Community Development Director, presented the staff report. <br /> <br />Tim Marcos, Anderson Companies, reviewed his project narrative and explained the <br />layout and specific challenges with site. He explained that Anderson Companies <br />would like to get the Boards input on commercial use, access, and financial <br />assistance. <br /> <br />Board Comments <br /> <br />Board discussed housing, architectural standards, commercial use, access, and site <br />cleanup. <br /> <br />Overall the Board was supportive of continuing to work with Anderson Companies <br />on the redevelopment project. <br /> <br />B. Zoning Ordinance Update (Architecture, Rural Cluster and Summary) <br /> <br />Mr. Grochala, Community Development Director, presented the staff report. <br /> <br />Board Comments <br /> <br />Board and Staff discussed changes to rural cluster developments. <br /> <br />Mr. Root provided examples of rural cluster development ordinance from Baltimore <br />County, Maryland and Spokane, Washington to aid Staff’s goal of redefining Rural <br />Cluster Developments in the City of Lino Lakes. <br /> <br />The Board and Staff discussed Classes of Materials updates. <br /> <br />Mr. Wipperfurth raised concerns regarding thin brick veneer being removed as a <br />Class 3 material and falling under the same designation as brick, a class 1 material. <br /> <br />Mr. Wipperfurth stated that thin brick is not as durable as brick. <br />
