7 <br /> <br />Brew Pub - A restaurant that conducts the retail sale of malt liquor brewed on the premise <br />and licensed under Minnesota Statute section 340A.301, subdivision 6(d). Areas used <br />exclusively for brewing operations shall not exceed 25 percent of the total floor area. <br />Included within this use is the off-sale of malt liquor produced on site in refillable <br />growlers pursuant to Minnesota Statutes section 340A.301, subdivision 7(b). (No change <br />from existing ordinance) <br /> <br />Brewer Taproom - Facility on the premises of, or adjacent to, a malt liquor beverage <br />production facility / brewery intended for the on-sale and consumption of malt liquor <br />produced by the brewer pursuant to Minnesota Statute section 340A.301, subdivision 6b. <br />A brewer taproom may include a restaurant. (No change from existing ordinance) <br /> <br />Microdistilleries - is a distillery operated within the state producing premium, distilled <br />spirits in total quantity not to exceed 40,000 proof gallons in a calendar year, which <br />distillery is licensed under Minnesota Statutes section 340A. (New definition) <br /> <br />Small Brewer - is a brewer licensed under section Minnesota Statutes section 340A.301, <br />Subdivision 6, clause (c), (i), or (j) who also holds a retail license to sell off-sale malt <br />liquor at its licensed premises which has been produced and packaged by the brewer. <br />(New definition) <br /> <br />The ordinance is drafted to allow for the following: <br /> <br />GB District; <br /> Permitted use <br />o Brew pub (new) <br />o Microdistillery with cocktail room (new) <br />o Small brewer with brewer taproom (new) <br /> <br />LI District; <br /> Permitted accessory use <br />o Brewer taproom accessory to malt liquor beverage production (no change) <br />o Cocktail room accessory to distilled spirits production (new) <br /> <br />GI District; <br /> Permitted accessory use <br />o Brewer taproom accessory to malt liquor beverage production (no change) <br />o Cocktail room accessory to distilled spirits production (new) <br /> <br />General Provisions <br /> <br />City staff prepared a summary of Zoning Ordinance changes to the General Provisions section <br />needed to comply with State Law, eliminate inconsistencies in the document, better reflect City <br />goals and make the ordinance easier to read and understand. <br /> <br />The changes to the section include:
