CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 2A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Hannah Lynch, Finance Director <br />MEETING DATE: November 14, 2022 <br />TOPIC: 2023 City Fee Schedule <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The City Council is being asked to approve the second reading of Ordinance No. 07-22, <br />Establishing the 2023 City Fee Schedule and Resolution No. 22-137, Approving Summary <br />Publication of Ordinance No. 07-22. <br />BACKGROUND <br />In order to provide for a more efficient and timely method of reviewing and adjusting the various <br />fees charged by the City, fees are consolidated into one schedule to be reviewed and adopted on <br />an annual basis. The City's current fee schedule has been circulated to department directors with <br />a request to update or amend the schedule as appropriate for 2023. Staff has reviewed the fees <br />in place to ensure their ongoing equity and cost recovery ability. <br />Ordinance No. 07-22 (the proposed 2023 Fee Schedule) is attached. Recommended amendments <br />to the ordinance are printed in red. Fees with proposed changes include: <br />• Civic Complex Room Reservations <br />• Field Rental <br />• Water & Sewer Utility Rates <br />• Trunk Utility Connection <br />• Lateral Service Connection <br />• Surface Water Management <br />• Zoning Confirmation Letter <br />• Park Dedication <br />The Council approved the first reading of Ordinance No. 07-22 on October 24, 2022. Staff is <br />now recommending approval of the second reading and summary publication of the ordinance. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve the second reading of Ordinance No. 07-22, Establishing the 2023 City Fee Schedule. <br />2. Approve Resolution No. 22-137, Approving Summary Publication of Ordinance No. 07-22. <br />
