CITY COUNCIL <br /> AGENDA ITEM 3A <br /> STAFF ORIGINATOR: Sarah Cotton, City Administrator <br /> MEETING DATE: January 9, 2023 <br /> TOPIC: 2023-2024 Labor Agreement with I.U.O.E, Local No. 49 <br /> VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> The City Council is being asked to consider Resolution 23-09, Approving the 2023-2024 Labor <br /> Agreement between the City of Lino Lakes and I.U.O.E, Local No. 49. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> A tentative agreement has been reached for a two-year contract with I.U.O.E, Local No. 49. A <br /> tentative agreement was reached after four meetings and the union members voted in favor of the <br /> following terms: <br /> 1. COMPENSATION/WAGES: <br /> a) 3% general wage increase, plus 0.75% market adjustment effective January 1, <br /> 2023 <br /> b) 3% general wage increase, plus 0.75% market adjustment effective January 1, <br /> 2024 <br /> c) Remove the following language: Heavy Equipment Premium: $.75/hour (For <br /> dump truck w/plow & wing, skid steer, backhoe, front-end loader, tractor w/ <br /> attachments, sweeper, & bucket truck) <br /> d) Add the following language: Pre-Shift Pay: From November 1st to March 31st <br /> each year, employees assigned to snow and ice removal duties during snow events <br /> shall receive a one-time pre-shift premium, per day, equal to $30 for all hours <br /> served before 5:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. This pay is considered a <br /> premium and will not be added into overtime base pay calculations. If an <br /> employee's shift exceeds 10 hours, the pre-shift premium pay is void. <br /> 2. INSURANCE: <br /> a) Section 17.1 (Health) revised to read: <br /> i. Effective January 1, 2023, Employer will contribute $588.64 toward the <br /> premium for single coverage and $1,212.98 toward the premium for family <br /> coverage. <br /> ii. Effective January 1, 2024, Employer will contribute 100% of the base single <br /> plan and$1,212.98 plus 50%of the 2024 premium increase toward the family <br /> plan. <br /> iii. The Employer's contributions toward the Health Savings Account and the <br /> cash option for waiving coverage remain the same. <br />
