COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> 50 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT <br /> 51 3A) Consider Appointment of Custodial Worker-Public Services Director DeGardner <br /> 52 reviewed the written Staff report requesting Council approval of Tracie Scott to the part-time <br /> 53 custodial worker position, up to 29 hours per week. <br /> 54 <br /> 55 Councilmember Ruhland moved to approve the appointment of Tracie Scott as recommended. <br /> 56 Councilmember Stoesz seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br /> 57 <br /> 58 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT <br /> 59 4A) Consider Approval of City of Lexington Equipment Donation-Public Safety Director <br /> 60 Swenson reviewed the written Staff report requesting Council approval to accept a donation of 4 <br /> 61 sections of 50 foot Wildland fire hose from the City of Lexington. He stated that a vendor sent the <br /> 62 incorrect hose,the City of Lexington does not have need of it, and could not return it. The <br /> 63 approimate value of the donation is $400. <br /> 64 <br /> 65 Councilmember Ruhland moved to approve the acceptance of a donation as recommended. <br /> 66 Councilmember Cavegn seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br /> 67 <br /> 68 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT <br /> 69 5A) Consider Approval of Resolution No. 23-31,Accepting Bids and Awarding a <br /> 70 Contract,Watermark Park Irrigation System - Public Services Director DeGardner reviewed the <br /> 71 written Staff report noting the Council awarded the Watermark Park construction project at the <br /> 72 February 13 meeting. Installation of the irrigation system was bid as a separate project with three <br /> 73 bids received and the low bid from Albrecht Enterprises at$104,083 and is being recommended for <br /> 74 award. <br /> 75 <br /> 76 Councilmember Stoesz asked about the water source. Mr. DeGardner replied it will be primarily <br /> 77 from a re-use pond for the majority of irrigation and municipal water will also be connected. <br /> 78 <br /> 79 Councilmember Cavegn moved to approve Resolution No. 23-31 as presented. Councilmember <br /> 80 Ruhland seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br /> 81 <br /> 82 B) Consider Approval of Resolution No. 23-32,Awarding Contracts for Watermark <br /> 83 Park Shelter-Public Services Director DeGardner reviewed the written Staff report requesting <br /> 84 Council approval of two contracts for the open air park shelter at Watermark Park. Staff is <br /> 85 recommending entering into a contract with PlayPower LT Farmington, Inc., via Sourcewell, in the <br /> 86 amount of$84,283 for a Poligon Grand Haven Gable 32' structure. <br /> 87 <br /> 88 Councilmember Stoesz asked about electricity, electricity costs, and preventing people from <br /> 89 tampering with it. Mr. DeGardner shared that 4 of the 6 columns will have electrical service available <br /> 90 for those enjoying the park shelter. They are heavy-duty construction and there will be security <br /> 91 lighting in the evening. <br /> 92 <br /> 93 Councilmember Ruhland asked about accessibility and whether the play area will be flat on the <br /> 94 ground. Mr. DeGardner replied in the affirmative, noting it will be ADA accessible. <br /> 95 <br /> 96 Councilmember Lyden moved to approve Resolution No. 23-32 as presented.
