CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1H <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jolleen Chaika, City Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: May 8, 2023 <br />TOPIC: Consider Approval of Resolution 23-42, Rice Lake <br />Elementary School and PTO Spring Carnival <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5 Vote Required) <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Rice Lake Elementary School and PTO has applied for a Special Event Permit for a <br />Spring Carnival on Sunday, May 21, 2023. <br />The applicant is proposing to have food trucks, a DJ, carnival games, and bounce houses <br />at the event located at Rice Lake Elementary School at 575 Birch Street. <br />The application has been reviewed by staff, including the Public Safety Department. The <br />applicant has been provided with a list of safety conditions which are also incorporated <br />into the attached resolution. The applicant has agreed to comply with the conditions and <br />to address any other safety considerations that may arise. <br />A Certificate of Insurance has been submitted by Centennial School District to the City <br />for this event. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve Resolution No. 23-42 authorizing issuance of Special Event Permit for Rice <br />Lake Elementary School and PTO Family Fun Day. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution 23-42
