8/29/2023 <br />13 <br />#403 Truck <br />Truck #403 is a 1-ton dump box truck used <br />by the parks department in the <br />maintenance of parks, trails, and snow <br />removal. 59,500 miles have been put on <br />the truck as of 6/2023. The truck is <br />showing signs of rust in the box and cab <br />corners. The recommended replacement is <br />a similar truck with similar capabilities. <br />Truck #403 is recommended to be replaced <br />in 2024, following the capital asset policy. <br />#414 Bobcat Toolcat <br />This Toolcat was purchased in 2019 and has 1037 operating hours as of 6/2023. <br />There is significant use of the Toolcat in all seasons. It is used to renew park <br />mulch in the summer, repair sod in the spring, remove snow from sidewalks and <br />trails in the winter, and do street <br />weeping and stump grinding in the <br />fall. Toolcats are versatile pieces of <br />equipment that make excellent tools <br />due to their maneuverability and low <br />impact on the turf when in use. This <br />Tool Cat is set to be replaced in 2024 <br />and is recommended to be replaced on a <br />much shorter replacement cycle because <br />of repairs needed beyond 5 years and <br />significant trade-in value vs. the cost of <br />purchase.
