<br />2 <br /> <br />Staff received a request to reserve the pickleball courts for a designated “Open Play.” Mr. <br />Chase plans on attending the Park Board meeting. <br /> <br />Fred Chase, 6184 Woodchuck Circle - arrived with Dale Stetzman who lives off Otter <br />Lake Road they came to discuss “Open Play” pickleball. Mr. Chase would like the City <br />to consider posting a sign at Tower Park reserving “Open Play” pickleball from 8:00am - <br />11:00am, Monday through Saturday and 6:00pm – 8:00pm, Monday through Thursday. <br />“Open Play” is open to all levels; doubles games are recommended to maintain flow. If <br />courts are full, players must change after one game. Paddles are set along the fence line <br />or in a paddle holder and the order determines who is next on the court. <br /> <br />Park Board member David Termont mentioned there are additional pickleball courts <br />located at NorthPoint Park and Arena Acres. The Rookery Center has pickleball hours <br />for members year-round. <br /> <br />Mr. Gooder asked if a new person arrives at the courts, how do they get included in the <br />Open Play? Mr. Chase stated they have a person pointed as the “opener” and they invite <br />the new players. <br /> <br />Cheryl Ennett, 1419 Pheasant Hills Drive – wants to play pickleball with her group of <br />friends at Tower Park, but courts are full during prime times, 8:00-11:00am. <br /> <br />Tammy Christenson, 1454 Pheasant Hills Drive – would like courts available during <br />prime times, 8:00-11:00am. <br /> <br />Mr. Termont stated there are a lot of unused hockey rinks during the summer, can they be <br />changed into pickleball courts. <br /> <br />Mr. Gooder would like more information from other cities in regards to how they handle <br />“Open Play”. <br /> <br />Mr. DeGardner read comments from Park Board Chair Pat Huelman and Park Board <br />member William Kusterman. <br /> <br />Mr. Gooder motioned to leave the pickle courts as is. Mr. Termont seconded it. Motion <br />carried 4-0. <br /> <br />B. Clearwater Creek Park Playground <br />The playground equipment is finally installed. Parks Department staff, along with a <br />certified playground installer completed the playground install on June 17. The <br />neighborhood has been heavily utilizing the park area ever since! <br /> <br /> <br />C. Watermark Park <br />Developer delays in infrastructure improvements (water and sewer mains, and roads), <br />will result in development of the park area being delayed until 2023.
