7. Identify and Prioritize Potential 2016 Parks and Trails Projects In Response to Item#7 the Board Requested the following: • A tour of the city parks with someone from the park staff. • Feedback from Mike Hoffman the Parks Supervisor and/or the parks crew itemizing the highest issues of need. For example, areas of complaints and demands from the community that they receive on a regular basis. • Estimated usage numbers and neighborhood demographics on the parks. • Age of current playground equipment and the life`expectancy of the current playground equipment. • Review trail projects and discuss what areas would be priority for maintenance. • Past information on partnering with-4ocal sports organizations as a possible funding source for minor repairs. • Information on potential Grants available If the'Board has applied_for grants in the past or a possible funding source for the f,ta-'r • Possible survey in the next newsletter with link,on website to provide a forum for people in the community to g1e general feedback'on needs for our parks. <1 8. Old Business A memorial�for Pam Taschuk a former ParkBoard';member who passed away previously mentioned and still to be considered. 9. NewBusiness Each Board'Member received a copy of the Parks,Natural Open Space/Greenways 'hand Trall System Plan book dated August 2004 for review. The Board mentioned a;Vet Memorial that was in the paper with a picture of the mayor anc'...requested more information regarding this Memorial. Board discussedpossible ways to receive feedback from the community on what issues they would,llke addressed in their parks and trails. Possible survey link on website with an article in the City Newsletter. 10. Next Scheduled Park Board Meeting The next scheduled Park Board meeting will be September 14, 2015.
