CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />STAFF REPORT AGENDA ITEM 1G <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: <br />MEETING DATE: <br />TOPIC: <br />Jolleen Chaika, City Clerk <br /> <br />January 22, 2024 <br /> <br />Resolution 24-05 Approving a New Cannabinoid License <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The City of Lino Lakes requires a license for any business that desires to sell edible cannabinoid <br />(low potency THC) products. <br />BACKGROUND <br />In December, 2023 a tobacco license was issued to the new owner of the Corner Express, located <br />at 7997 Lake Drive. As the business has been operational and has now included sale of tobacco <br />products, the owner wishes to expand sales to edible cannabinoid products. <br /> <br />A complete application by the owners of the Corner Express has been received by City staff. <br />Background checks were conducted on the owners by Lino Lakes Public Safety and no factors to <br />deny the license were found. Further, the applicant meets all licensing criteria pursuant to Lino <br />Lakes City Code Chapter 617. <br />The complete application is on file in the City Clerk's office for review. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of Resolution 24-05 Approving a New Cannabinoid License for <br />the Corner Express. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Resolution 24-05 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />62
