CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM 1H <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jolleen Chaika, City Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: January 22, 2024 <br />TOPIC: Resolution 24-06: Appointing Election Judges for <br />Presidential Nominating Primary <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />INTRODUCTION <br />On March 5, 2024, the City will administer this the Presidential Nominating Primary (PNP). <br />BACKGROUND <br />The governing body of a municipality has the authority, under Minn. Stat. 204B.21, to appoint <br />election judges to serve in general elections, including PNP. The City Council is being asked to <br />appoint the list included on Resolution 24-06 as election judges for the March 5, 2024 PNP. The <br />resolution also would authorize the City Clerk to appoint additional election judges to serve if <br />needed. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve Resolution 24-06, appointing election judges for the 2024 Presidential Nominating <br />Primary and authorizing City Clerk to appoint additional election judges if needed. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Resolution 24-06 <br />64
