1 <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM 2B <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Meg Sawyer, Human Resources and Communications Manager <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: January 22, 2024 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Appointment of Community Service Officer <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The City Council is being asked to approve the appointment of Adam Crowl to the part-time <br />Community Service Officer position in the Public Safety Department. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />Staff has completed the recruitment process, provided a conditional offer, and is <br />recommending the approval of Crowl for the part-time position. <br /> <br />Crowl is working towards a degree in law enforcement and is currently volunteering in the <br />reserve program with the City of Lino Lakes. <br /> <br />The starting wage for Crowl will be $24.78 per hour which is the current Starting Step for the <br />part-time Community Service Officer position. <br /> <br />With the Council’s approval, Crowl would start in the Community Service Officer position on <br />January 29, 2024. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Please approve the appointment of Adam Crowl to the Community Service Officer position. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />None <br />70
