Wetland 1 was a 0.19 acre exempt storm pond wetland dominated by narrowleaf cattail
and reed canary grass.
Wetland 2 was an approximately 0.34 acre ditched wet meadow wetland dominated by
reed canary grass.
No wetland impacts are proposed for this project. A 10-foot wetland buffer is indicated
on the plans. Portions of this buffer will be graded, then seeded with a native seed mix.
Greenway System, Parks and Trails
The Greenway System does indicate the drainage way on the west portion of the site.
There are no impacts to the wetland proposed for the project, and the buffer area will be
seeded with a native seed mix. No additional Greenway System measures are necessary.
Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) Considerations
The site is not within the 2005 I-35E Corridor AUAR environmental review boundary.
Drinking Water Protection
The site is not within the Drinking Water Supply Management Area(DWSMA). The site
will be connected to City sewer and water. Stormwater infiltration is planned.
LANDSCAPE PLAN
Tree Preservation and Mitigation Standards
The purpose of these standards is to protect valuable trees and stands of vegetation while
not interfering with landowners' reasonable use and development of property. The goal
is to minimize unnecessary loss of habitat, biodiversity, and forest resources and to
replace removed trees in areas where tree cover is most critical.
A tree survey was performed that identified:
Total Trees Removed 37
Trees Preserved 60
Trees Planted 56
Total Trees Planted or 116
Preserved
In addition to the 56 large trees planted for the site, there will be 10 trees spaded and
moved, and 50 trees preserved with Tree Protection Fence.
The majority of the trees planned for removal are in the Basic Use Area, not in
Environmentally Sensitive Areas, and will not require mitigation trees.
5
