COUNCIL MINUTES January 22, 2018
DRAFT
5
Council Member Stoesz asked about a delayed connection (such as someone connecting in Year 12) 182
and impact on how long someone would pay. Ms. Hankee said the cost would be whatever the city 183
charges for connection are at that time. 184
185
Mayor Reinert opened the public hearing. 186
187
Ms. Hankee presented a comment that was submitted in writing. Richard and Emily Biske, 1559 188
LaMotte Circle (letter on the file). Mayor Reinert recalled that in the past the issue of connection 189
would be forced by the city with certain road improvements. That situation has been reconsidered 190
and the forced element is no longer present. When a road is improved is decidedly a good time to 191
install utilities but he doesn’t believe in pushing things on people. He doesn’t see the interest here. 192
193
Joe Cameron, 1572 LaMotte Circle. He feels the neighborhood doesn’t want water. Will a petition 194
be required? Ms. Hankee said she’s received a few calls from the LaMotte area for the petition form. 195
Within 60 days the neighborhood can submit a petition. 196
197
Bernard Ward, 1549 LaMotte Drive. He is vehemently opposed to the water improvement. He 198
agrees with the roadway. To put water in where people don’t want it is foolish. He will sign the 199
petition and he feels the overwhelming majority of residents do not want the water. They have great 200
water. 201
202
There being no one else present wishing to speak, the public hearing was closed at 7:49 p.m. 203
204
6C) SS Properties Addition/All Seasons Rental (7932 Lake Drive) Drainage and Utility 205
Easement Vacation – City Engineer Hankee reviewed the written staff report. This a requested 206
second reading of the ordinance. Council Member Stoesz asked there has been any phone calls or 207
other communication in opposition to this vacation; Ms. Hankee said no. 208
209
i) Consider 2nd Reading of Ordinance No. 01-18, Vacating Drainage and Utility 210
Easement for Lot 1, Block 1 of Pine Glen 211
212
Council Member Rafferty moved to waive the full reading of Ordinance No. 01-18 as presented. 213
Council Member Maher seconded the motion.
